Welcome to Maltby Intermediate School
Maltby Intermediate School is for 5th & 6th grade students. We are located at 4740 Bauer Road.
School starts at 8:37 and finishes at 3:38. Click here for the full bell schedule.
School office hours are 7:40-4:10. School is closed for the summer the last week of June and the month of July.

Orientation days and times 2025-2026
5th Grade: August 19th, 2025
6th Grade: August 20th, 2025
Students may attend either Orientation day if their family has a scheduling conflict. If you cannot make either day, please make arrangements for someone to pick up your student's items for you. At orientation students will receive their schedules and locker assignments, planners, information on how to order a yearbook online, and will have their Fall portraits taken for their student I.D. cards that they will receive within the first week of school, so have your student dress for pictures! Employees from the transportation office and cafeteria will also be available to assist you. We will also have Brighton spirit wear available for purchase.
Maltby 5/6 Intermediate takes a team approach to educating your child. Your student will be assigned a core academic team (two or three teachers) and will circulate among them for their language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science instruction. This team of teachers will be located in adjoining or adjacent classrooms. In this manner we can construct a smaller, more personalized learning environment for your child.
Encore classes
Your child will be attending Encore classes on an every other day basis, which we call A or B days. On one day they will attend music, band, orchestra, or P.E. (whichever they have chosen). On day 2 they will be attending nine-week long rotations of Art, Physical Education, Spanish and STEAM.
